Charleston, S.C. I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 16th inst satisfying me of the death of Cap't Henry Reddic late of Co C 35th U.S.C.T. There must be some mistake about it, as a man representing himself to be Henry Reddick, late of Co C 35th Regt has called at this office for his bounty and has be identified by several men of the 35th army of whom is "Henry Reddick" who was a Serg't in "C". I have written to Gen Balloch about this affair and am now awaiting his answer. The draft for "Reddick" and more is still in my possession. Very Respectfully Your Obedient Servant. A. Coats 1st Lieut V.R.C.
