Dear Sir. 
I have the honor to report that on the 1st inst. I received the following telegram from yourself. 

Washington Sep 30th 1865.

"Brig Genl. C.B. Fisk
Nashville Tenn.

The following telegram has just been recd. 

"Nashville Sep 30th 1865. Andrew Johnson. I appeal to you for protection - This day my house has been entered by colored soldiers living on my place - My life and that of my family threatened My daughters cursed, and my dog shot in my dwelling - further violence is threatened to night - from you alone can I expect protection
