General Clinton B. Fisk

Dear Sir.
Enclosed please find the statements of several persons in regard to the case of Richard T. Griffin. I could have taken plenty more testimony. But all concur in the statements already made and all say that Gammon was the cause of the Boy having his feet frost bitten.

Gammon is now in Virginia at Withville - do not know where Dr. Williams is, but he has good property in Jefferson Co. E. Tenn - Dr. Clark is in this County bound to Circuit Court for Barn Burning - none of the witnesses are acquainted with the matter enough to state whether or not it was necessary to take his feet off or not to save him. But nothing else was tried it is believed however that it was done for an experiment, as neither of them ever done the like before, as they stated themselves. I have not taken these statements under oath because it was not convenient, if anything is to be done with the case all the statements and many more can be had under oath. I do think Minerva Dangerfield ought to have pay out of Gammons and Williams Property for her trouble. She is an honest old woman and very poor. xxxx

Yours truly
(sgd) S. E. Griffeth. Agent
