Statement of Dr. Daniel Kenny of this town is as follows. I saw the boy Griffin when he was brought in here. I saw his feet before they were cut off- they were so badly frozen that they were perfectly blue.- they could not have been saved. I talked with Dr. Williams about them- I know that it was necessary to take hiss feet off to save his life- I am an old Physician, and have practiced for forty years and I know what I say to be true. I think he got them frozen laying in the woods for fear of Gammon He was sent to Minerva Dangerfield as the other witness hath state I waited on him there myself (sgd) Dr Daniel Kenny True Copy Clinton B Fisk BGen Asst Comr
