Freedmen's Commission and propose to aid hereafter denominationally. Mrs Caufield is a zealous communicant of that Church and can easily enlist their sympathy and aid in behalf of her asylum. I have brought the subject before Bishop Quintard who cordially approves, and I confidently expect that Mrs Caufield will be so supported by her own people by the coming spring as not to require any aid from the Bureau. I gave this case good attention during my late visit to Memphis.
