General

I have the honor to inclose the petition in relation to alleged outrages in the Indian Territory with copies of letters from Bt Maj Genl Hunt John Seving (late A.A. Genl of this Dept) and Capt Thos. A. Pollock Pro. Marshall
These papers have just reached me through Maj Genl Reynolds.

I fail to see the force of the warning given by Genl Hunt to the Freedmens Bureau - the Petition was forwarded to him by Genl Reynolds and he was simply directed to investigate and report, which he has done after a lapse of three months.
