in the nations.

Upon calling the attention of Wm Fisher to the fact that the representations and statements in this petition, are exaggerations - in fact fabrications he disclaims having made or subscribed to them, acknowledges that he has never known of the murder of any freedmen who returned to the nation, nor of an instance when a negro family was "in the woods shelterless at the mercy of the elements", As to being "quartered in the sheds" permit me to remark that both masters and servants quarter in temporary structures in many places, such as would be deemed unsightly sheds, as apprentices to a well ordered eastern farm.
