Albany N.Y., December 6th 1865.

General
Having been informed that several Officers of the Veteran Reserve Corps, selected by you, are to be detailed for duty in your Bureau, and being anxious to obtain such a detail, I take the liberty of addressing you personally, hoping that you will pardon me for doing so and that my request will receive your favorable consideration.

Nearly the whole of my Company was recently mustered out of Service and under G.O. 165 War Dept. C.S. I should proceed to my home and report by letter to the Adjutant General of the Army for orders. At present I am on special duty as member of a General Court
