8 [[re]]quest of said laborer or apprentice, give
9 to him or her a written certificate of such
10 discharge, and, upon refusal so to do,
11 shall be deemed guilty of misdemeanor,
12 and, upon conviction thereof, shall be
13 subject to the penalties prescribed in the
14 first section of this Act.

Sec, 3, Be if further enacted, &c., That
2 it shall be the duty of the Judges of this
3 State to give this Act especially in charge
4 to Grand Juries, at each Jury Term
5 of their respective Courts.

Sec. 4. Be it further enacted, &c., That
2 this Act shall take effect from and after
3 its passage.
