10 leave, without cause or permission, they
11 shall forfeit all wages earned to the time
12 of abandonment for all lost[[strikethrough]]
 Sec.3. Be it further enacted,&c.,That
2 the labor contract provides for above
3 shall be deposited with the Recorder of
4 the Parish in which the parties thereto
5 reside, and shall have the force and
6 effect of an authentic act, and be condu-
7 cive evidence of the intercept of the par-
8 ties thereto; but all disputed arising
9 between the parties shall be decided
10 before a Justice of the Peace of the 
11 District or Ward in which the parties 
12 reside, and said Justice of the Peace
13 shall be authorized to enforce these labor
14 contracts. 
 Sec.4. Be it further enacted, &c., That
2 all labor contracts shall be made with 
3 the head of families; they shall embrace
4 the labor of all the members of the
5 family able to work, and shall be bind-
6 ing on all minors of said families.
 Sec. 5. Be it further enacted, &c., That
2 wages due under these labor contracts
3 shall be a lien or first privilege upon the 
4 crops, not more than one-half of which
5 shall be removed from the plantation
6 until full payments is made for said wages.
 Sec. 6. Be it further enacted, &c., That
2 one-half of the wages agreed upon shall
3 be paid at such stated periods as may be
4 determined upon by the parties, but it 
5 shall be lawful for the employer to retain
6 the other moiety until the completion of 
7 the contract.
