Enclosing a letter from Rev. Henry. W. Bellows, President of the Sanitary Commission, I respectfully request to be appointed a Clerk to the Freedman's Bureau in any part of the U.S.

I have been Clerk in the Naval Service for the last four years, and respectfully refer to the following gentlemen, who have kindly allowed me to do so.
