Capt. Poillon an Agent of this Bureau has been sent by my recommendation to Claiborne in Monroe county, and the General Comdg. the District has sent with him two companies of Infantry. I am confident Capt. Poillon is the right man in the right place as his report will show.
Were there an Agent of this Bureau with a Company partly mounted at Bladen Springs, in Choctaw Co. also the same at Gosport Landing in Clarke County, I am confident the day would not be far distant when very much more satisfactory reports would come from western Alabama.

I have the honor to be Col.
Very Respectfully
Your Obdt. Servant
Charles A Miller
Major 2nd Me. Cavalry
