Himes is reported to me as a Rebel Major on parole and most of the others have been paroled by our officers, as being connected with the Rebel Army.

Upon investigation and careful inquiry I find that the following named persons were principals and accessories in the disgraceful affair of last night; viz: Howel Himes, Mr. Gibson, Mr. Gordon, Mr. J. Powell, Mr. Tracy, Reuben Key, J SMith, W Manifold. The good citizens of Fayette are very indignant in regard to the act, and desire that these men who have so greatly disgraced them, and insulted the U.S. be promptly and severely punished.
