of an enterprise, and especially to solicit answers to the following inquiries.
1. Can such a plan be put into operation and carried out without hindrances from the Southern people so great as to discourage capital from taking this form of investment?
2. Will government, through the Freedmen's Bureau or otherwise, furnish such efficient protection as to make it safe for us, both as to persons and property, whenever we may go in that region?
3. Is there any method by which we or some one of use, may sustain an official relation to the Freedman's Bureau or the Government so as to secure some degree of security from such a position?
Any other information or assistance you may feel disposed to afford us will be most gladly received.
