I have the honor to report that a negro was murdered on James Hart's place some six miles from Picket Station on Mississippi Central R.R. in this County a few days since; the body was found by a negro named Stocklin. There has been no attempt by State authorities to ferrit [[ferret]] out the perpetrators.
