Be it remembered that at a District Court of the United States began and held at Knoxville within said District on the 3rd Monday it being the 20th day of May 1867 - among other things the following proceeding was had to wit:

One Tract of Land, Seized as the property of James Collier 
Information No.50

Be it remembered that this cause came on to be heard on the 22 day of May 1867, a Trial by Jury being waiv'd, before the honorable Connally F. Trigg, Judge &c. 

Upon the Information and other pleadings in the cause and the proofs - From all which it appears to the Court that James Collier, the reputed owner of the property mentioned in the Information, has taken the oath of Amnesty prescribed in the President's proclamation of May 29, 1865 - But because it also appears that there was probable cause for the seizure of the property mentioned it is ordered that the same be so certified. Thereupon it is considered by the Court that the property seized be restored to the claimant, James Collier, upon payment of the costs of the cause for which let Executive issue, and amm't of possession is awarded subject to any existing lease of the Freedmens Bureau. And as part of said costs the Court doth allow 12.50 to James P. Swann, the former, 12.50 to close fall, the present dist attorney 17.50 to the client and 12.50 to the marshall and 10.00 to the priorities - Thereupon the defer cost together with Thomas Johnson his security, confessed argument in from of the United States for the costs offer said And therefore it is further considered by the court that the United States recover of the defendant and the said Thomas Johnson the costs of said for which execution may issue.  It is further ordered by the Court that Jno. M. Davis pay the sum of five dollar as costs to Clk, of his interview time which is not prosecuted for which execution is awarded.
