It has nothing to do with Chicanos.

Let's not make the same mistake as the Black Art Movement. While there were those artist [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] who used their past experiences to express themselves, there were also those (here's the mistake) who continued in the "latest New YOrk trends of abstraction" which actually does not relate to their [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] and does not truefully express the artist's [[strikethrough]] how [[/strikethrough]] identity.

Fel.'s 1st statement. I disagree we are spokemen-visually. Our past experiences [[strikethrough]] with our envi [[/strikethrough]] within the barrio allows us to act as visual spokesmen.
