Hôtel Poulard.

August 3rd Mont St. Michel
Mizis birthday. Mysterious appearance of a bunch of flowers with breakfast. Cordial farewell of our old hostess (2 frcs) and Madame Tullard - a really charming woman (like Mrs Billing)

Left the Mount at 9 a.m. in good spirits. 4km out Toutorson screw loose and lost, hailed passing Tramp steamer towed in to T. laid up for repairs in 10 minutes of to Antrain.

Prettiest country and best roads we saw so far - delightful weather. After lunch at Antrain start for Fougeres. Up hill all the way 26 km. but very pleasant. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. "BATH COMPLET," took it. We are now in Bretagne, delicious wine with dinner. Walk after, overwhelming grandeur at medieval architecture. Another August 3rd Buy calendar and find Mizi has birth day again to day. The Towers and ruins of Fougeres the grandest seen so far. Beautiful gardens on top of City Wall - miles of horizon.
