Laval Hotel du Grand Dauphin, August 5th

Delightful Trip here from Vitré, road leading over hills commanding excellent view in all directions. Many flies in roads here - none in Normandie. City rather modern, attractions few.

Ungrateful excursion to so called cathedral [[strikethrough]] nearly [[/strikethrough]] completely new - demonized. Other church handsome interior. Mizi very tired - takes first carriage ride in France.

Some little boy in the street playing old Pans flute and
leading his herd of goats - sells milk as he goes along. Little girl carrying loaf of bread - larger than herself.

We like our Hotel very much. Pretty little hostes. "Vous venez d'Angleterre Madame? Non, Amérique. "Sapristi"

Walked about 7 miles today besides 34 Ks on wheels. But oh this climate, it is no wonder that all of France looks like a garden and then such good things to eat!! The Waldorf Astoria? Bah!
