how small it all looks! The Westbahnhof where I arrived lived in my memory as a big feudal castle, dark, busy and forbidding whence I left these twenty years since - and now it really is a harmless provincial station of no significance.

What pleased me much in approaching the city were the hills of the "Weinerwald" they seem to be just as beautiful as ever, a real "Wald" with charming villages and cozy looking inns, yes, that is the same old Weinerwald.

And there stood Heinrich and Schimkowitz at the Depot and I was glad to have somebody and not to be alone. At the Grand Hotel Mr. Kestranek waited for me and we all went to Schimkowitz for dinner at his house in Hietzing. I am glad old Schimke is so pleasantly fixed a lovely home in a still lovelier
