Saturday June 19th

I sent you a cable today. Yesterday your letter arrived with the news from St. Louis. I hope that this matter will go to sleep during the summer. I would like it better to start right of going West upon my arrival in New York. That thought bothered me a lot. In a letter I had expressed the hope to find you and the children still in New York, so I might go to Cauyo with you but I clearly see that that would be unpracticable. Johanes should not remain in the City the moment it gets hot.
