Oscar and I took a bath in the adriatic sea and spent our evening in a vantage point overlooking the beautiful scenery with the clear stars above us. Today I will return to Vienna, Mama will remain a month.

Arbe, Tuesday June 22nd

I say farewell to these bleak shores. 
Mama, Grete & Oscar were standing on the dock waving their handkerchiefs, tears in their eyes. A number of Dalmatian are going with this boat to Fiume to take their passage to America, they were singing their doleful songs, kissing their mothers and sweethearts and making things pathetic. 

In the morning Oscar and I had another bath in the Adria followed by a "Frühschoppen" under a tree in front of the inn. Life is simple in Arbe and inexpensive. Wine and fish is all the Dalmatians require; the men seem to do little, but the
