These sculptors submitted to me the other day their sketches for the figures, and I may predict that if all the other artists connected with the Exposition show the same ability and sincerity the sculpture part will be highly successful.

In the center of this Colonade arises the Festival Hall, which will show Apollo and the Muses and several groups of minor decorations, for which the artists have not yet been selected.

We now leave the grounds proper and give our attention to the buildings, of which this Fine Arts Palace will have the greatest prominence in connection with the art of sculpture. Most of its embellishments will be permanet i. e., in marble and bronze. A colossal seated statue in marble representing "Sculpture" By Mr. D. C. French, and a corresponding one representing "Painting" by Mr. Louis St. Gaudens, will ornate the entrance. Further on, in two niches will be groups representing "Truth" by Mr. Chas. Grafly, and "Nature" by Mr. Ph. Martiny. This building will be surmounted by a com[[?]] in bronze representing "Inspiration", of which Mr. Andrew O' C[[?]] is to be the sculptor.
