of the various great art periods, such as the "Classic", the "Renaissance", the "oriental" and the "gothic" periods will be carved in stone by Mr. C. Tefftm Mr. F. Elwell, Mr. C. F. Hamann, Mr. Albert Jaegers, Mr. Henry Linder, Johannes Gellert and others. Mr. Geo. T. Brawster and Mr. O. Piccirilli will both carve into the facades of this building a number of appropriate medallions representing the principal masters of these art periods.

Following up the subjects in connection with the building, I wish to state that the decorative fountain designed by Garrere Hastings for the Manufacture Building will be carried out by Mr. Phillip Martiny, a "Victory" in the entrance niche of the same building, by Mr. V. Tonetti, and proper figures on the cornice line by Mr. L. Amasteis, etc. 

The Mining Building will have its facade encircled by a frieze of appropriate subjects by Mr. Theodore Baur, and statues representing "Gold", "Copper", "Coal" and "Iron" by Mr. P. W. Ruckstuhl, while the decorations so essential in the composition of its beautiful dome will be made by Mr. Rudolph Schwartz, of Indianapolis. 

On the Liberal Arts Building we will have colossal groups by Mr. Henry Linder, and groups at the entrance expressive of the mechanical and scientific qualities of the contents of the building by Mr. Geo. F. Bissell. Other figures and groups on this building will be made by Mr. Phillip Martiny, Mr. H. P. Pedersen, Mr. Chas. I Harvey and Mr. Thodore Tholnaar [Theodore Tholenaar]]. 

Some of the work for the Machinery Building is already completed. and, I may say, very successfully, as shown in the youthful figures bearing the shields, with proper devices, by Mr. A. A. Weinmann, and the pediment by Mr. Miranda. Mr. Hinton Perry is at work on groups of Atlas supporting the globe, while other work is under way for this building by Mr. Max Mausch, of Chicago, Mr. Anton Schaaf, and Mr. W. H. Frelich. 

For the Varied Industries Building, also, some work is completed by Mr. Anton C. Skodick, as well as that just mentioned, consisting of two seated statues showing the relation of the male and female sexes to the different occupations of the industry and further
