Enclosed is a copy of the open letter we sent to all the presidential candidates, as per your request. Unfortunately we had to delay its release, because of the difficulties in getting the endorsement of the D. of Mural Painters. However, it was better late than never. (Roosevelt did not reply Landon's secretary but apologies. [[?]] ditto. Thomas failed to answer. Browder sent a swell reply addressing it.)

I communicated with Gardner Jackson regarding the memorandum you sent us and sent him, suggesting cooperation between the Congress and the C.I.O. Jackson replies saying that he expected to take it up with Lewis after the convention of the A.F. of L. He assured us of his interest and expressed confidence that some results may materialize in the near future.

Very Sincerely
