3. "The rental question was thoroughly and cordially discussed with the president and members of the Society sponsoring this movement and the Advisory Committee."

Q. With what members of the Society of Painters, Sculptors and Gravers was the rental question discussed, and under what circumstance?

Q. When and with what members present was the rental question discussed with the Advisory Committee?

4. "There is in this office a formal letter of acknowledgment and ruling on the question [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] as a result of these frank discussions."

Q. What is the statement in this letter?

5. "The Municipal Art Committee and the City are bearing the expenses of the arrangement and operation of this exhibition."

Q. Where does the Municipal Art Committee get its money?

Q. What part of the expenses did the city pay as against the Municipal Art Committee?

6. "Only the actual construction and rental fees are being charged against the admission."

Q. If admission is charged, does this not mean that in addition to the Municipal Art Committee and the City, the public is also bearing the expense of the exhibition?

Q. Do you consider the artists to be as important a factor in making this exhibition possible as the landlord who provides the premises and the workmen who do the construction?

Q. If so, why are the artists promised a division of the proceeds after the landlord and the workers have been paid?

7. "If any person would receive financial profit from the admission fee, the Municipal Art Committee would cooperate in the Rental Policy."

Q. Did you not previously state that the landlord, Rockefeller Center, and the construction workers would receive financial profit for their contribution?

8. "The Municipal Art Committee charges no fees and takes no commissions from artists at any time."

Q. Do you consider this a proper and dignified statement from the Chairman of the Municipal Art Committee?
