2. and Barbara & Aline - other ladies unable, but next week I expect a contingent of them. Dr. Mukerji was sick but telephoned. His tea was appreciated. 

Conversation was very gay & light - people are getting used to each other, & what is more seem to like each other. Jo de Justo, I'm told, was tremendously cheered & encouraged by our liking his things - & has gone at his painting with renewed vigor. Howard Gibbs is a little blue - following elevation of spirits about his exhibit. Charlie Flato hasn't heard definitely about the manuscript he took to Houghton Mifflin - but has heard that they are interested. He is coming in, in a few minutes - & then perhaps I'll add good news. I like Eliz. Olds very much - she has style - definite quality of mind. I'm going to the Erikson concert with Howard Slayman - who was in yesterday & seems to enjoy himself at my teas. Ed Meyer came & I gave him back
