for a short call.

And then we walked over to the Barnes foundation. Truly it was a full weekend. An exciting one & very good fun. I didn't know what to expect - at Barnes. There was a most cordial welcome- Dr Barnes tall, large, glasses, big hands, big voice- big welcome. So glad to see Henry- Keen looks shot at me- and Mrs. Barnes, small friendly and gentle coming down the stairs to say how do you do. I went up the slippery stairs to my room & came right down to a large living room - great huge sofa & chairs in a very handsome summer covering - white china with big splotches of flowers. Generous & handsome. Henry & I sat upon the sofa - room for six between us. Mrs Barnes in a huge chair (she is small) looking a bit lost- but her bright blue eyes shining behind her glasses. Her hair is going grey. So is his. We talked - or rather Henry & Dr Barnes - chiefly about a friend of theirs whom I haven't met - who is in deeper of going under.
