Leonard greeted us - looking very handsome & very well - in his old digging clothes. I felt proud to be his cousin - & he seemed very very glad to see us. There is no describing that place - a pond a dam - an overflow a brook flowers - flowery trees - fences woods - daffodills in the grass - every thing lovely - a Spring house a a a a heaven - we inspected every thing - there is no describing the feeling of home it gave. And Leonard is so proud. Cromie is a very homey person - adores her garden (Leonard has just built her a wild garden - trillium is out) loves cooking - sewing etc. She spent her day down the brook where they are building by degrees another pond for Martha's (Harriet's sister)
