Would you find it convenient to bring him 2 or 3 catalogues of past exhibits and/or any literature that might acquaint him with your general attitudes, although this latter of course is not really sine qua non, at least at the moment.

More than I care to admit to anyone my mother's condition is precarious to the point of keeping me at home almost in toto. That is why I have had to forego the pleasure of seeing you and your new surroundings.
