Mr. Joseph S. Trovato
New York States Exposition
Syracuse, New York 13209

Dear Mr. Trovato:

Mr. Joseph Cornell was born and bred in New York State, and spent his childhood at Nyack, although he now lives in New York City.

He apparently has pleasant memories of the Syracuse State Fair, and says that he would be pleased to lend one or two of his collages to the exhibition of New York Painting and Sculpture; that is, if collage is to be included as a category.

Before we send you photographs, please let us know whether works must be for sale or not. Some of Mr. Cornell's best collages are "not for sale".

Sincerely,
Robert Schoelkopf

P. S. Mr. Cornell is chary of providing biographical information, but perhaps if you would make a request for such data, we could forward it to him.
