Mr. Edwin Janss, Jr.
Chateau Marmont

Dear Mr. Janss:

After some negotiation, Mr. Cornell has agreed to part with Mica Magritte II at the end of its current exhibition schedule (March, 1968).

His terms are these: You agree to purchase Where Does the Sun Go at Night? now, the price to be $800. At the end of the travelling exhibition, we shall deliver Mica Magritte II for $1000. It seems that Mr. Cornell withdrew Mica Magritte II from sale because he felt we had put too low a price on it.

If you do not wish to accede to these demands, I shall understand perfectly. Either way, it should make a good story!

Sincerely,

Robert Schoelkopf
