319 EAST 72ND STREET
NEW YORK CITY

December 9,
1931.

Mr. Leon Kroll,
Chairman,
American Society of Painters, Sculptors and Gravers,
39 West 67th Street,
New York City.

Dear Mr. Kroll:

Thank you very kindly for your invitation to rejoin your society and take part in your coming exhibition in February. I appreciate the honor you pay me and it would be great satisfaction to me to send something to your show. However, rather unfortunately, I feel myself as having gotten out of the way of belonging to art societies and recall that because of a protracted period of residence abroad a number of years ago, I dropped out of your society as I felt that I could not take an active part in it; but I should be very happy to come in as from this year.

Very sincerely yours,
Paul Manship
