Mémoire de la Liberté

Edition de la Déclaration Universelle des Draits de l'Hamme avec la participation des artistes contemporains

To Mr Artschwager,

Sous le Haut Patronage de la Fondation France Libertés.

Subject: Your participation in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights project.
Foundation France Libertes - Danielle Mitterrand -

Dear Sir,
This letter is to give you an up-to-date report on the project in which you have agreed to participate.

At present, fifty Artists have accepted to participate (see attached list). More than 30 works - etchings, lithographs, silkscreen prints, or objects - have been executed.

We are currently working on a book-cataloge of the 50 planned works of art. Each will be presented in full color on a single page (format 29x25 cm). The book will serve as a catalogue for official exhibitions, the first of which is to be held at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris between October 15th and November 15th 1991. Other exhibitions will follow in major Museums and Cultural Centers throughout the world. We will keep you fully informed of the calendar of exhibitions and other events, including official receptions planned to honor and to thank the participating artists.

The book will serve as the basis for the version planned for large-scale free distribution to schools and universities. We will send you copies for your own use as soon as it is published.
