their lessons.  She could not find any at first and as I wanted some work she thought that I would do for the first three weeks.  I was very glad to accept this.  After three weeks had passed and I received nine dollars, I felt very proud and took the first opportunity to go to the city with my brother, for in our town I could not get the book I wanted.  

As we left the train, I lost sight of my brother in the crowd, and was very much frightened, but thought it best to stay where I was.  After a while my brother found me, and we went to a store, but they did not have it, so we hurried on to another one, where I got it at last.  

The result of my getting it was I became a subscriber member of the library, and that it gave me great pleasure. I do not think that I could have spent the money any better, for I did not give myself the pleasure alone, but by becoming a subscriber member I also increased the library.
