Far down the river you could see a birch canoe floating, in which a man was sitting. The canoe was in the water at one end, [[crossed-out]] and [[/crossed-out]] the other end [[crossed-out]] was [[crossed-out]] being up. On the margin of the water there stood a number of people, they [[note above]] who [[/note above]] were watching the canoe [[symbol?]] floating away, [[symbol?]] [[cross-out]] and [[/cross-out]] all of them wore a [[note above]] having [[/note above]] a sad expression.
