household = Then I went back to bed = But yesterday & today I got up for a few hours to paint = Fairy-foot, the bird you gave Ruth is a darling and I am painting him, with Flora - my little maid = It is a very pretty color composition - Green & white striped wall-paper - blue & white cage, Flora in a blue & white checked dress feeding the canary - standing by the window with the sunlight coming in = My start is splendid - and I only hope that it will continue I shall be happier when I can work longer & more I shall have to keep an eye on Mary - she has a great way of stealing hearts-

Edward is coming up for this Sunday - Gretchen I hope will come the beginning of next month. Maud said that she would come if you write her.
