My dear Miss Dreier: 

Mr. Koelble, President of the German Bazaar, asked me if I would assist him in quietly withdrawing from the Fair as he would never have permitted us entrance in the Bazaar if in some way his committee had not let us slip through. After carefully  considering the whole situation from all points and consulting with Miss Hay, City Chairman, Mrs. Laidlaw, Borough Chairman of Manhattan, Mrs. Dreier, Borough Chairman of Brooklyn, as well as with such individual members of the German Committee of the Womans Suffrage Party who had contributed a great deal of their time and thought to the organization of this work, it was decided to ask Mr. and Mrs. Charles Knoblauch and myself as Chairman to represent the German Committee and go to Mr. Koelble and ask him if he would not place our offer to quietly withdraw before his committee before accepting it. This he refused to do, and rather than cause a public disturbance, and feeling that we were acting in unity with the great big German spirit we decided to withdraw quietly from the Bazaar at the close of Monday night. The Committee sold up to 4,000 tickets and at the close of Monday night will be able to hand over to the Bazaar one thousand and some odd dollars from the sales
