on the 24th  So maybe I'll be up 
in Redding - I telephoned to 
Mrs. Miller to see whether she
couldn't visit you soon - but so
far she has been out all the time.
I shall try again tonight.

I must apologize for not sending you Ruths letter ages ago  = It has been lying among some of my papers for six weeks = Her letters are growing sweeter all the time.
Tante Heidlauffe spent yesterday with me -
and Saturday I was all day in Redding.
