Dear Edward,

It is, I suppose you think about time for you to hear from your sisters, although Mary and Katie have written, time flys, I dont know whether it really does, I must write or rather finally settle down to do so [[strikethrough]] on [[/strikethrough]] this warm Sunday afternoon [[strikethrough]] when [[/strikethrough]] while the others in the house except Gretchen and myself ihren nachmittag schlaf nehmen. I hope they will feel refreshed!

We arrived here Thursday evening and immediately after changing our dresses we went out to a "Gärtchen, where Mr. & Mrs. Fritz Achelis and Mr. & Mrs. König joined us then we all that is our family dined here at Böckers, where Gretchen and I are now staying for a week and are enjoying it greatly. This morning I was going sketching with Mrs Liebe (a sister of Mrs Bocker) but it rained and so we went to church instead, coming out who should we meet but Mr. Trompeter who was on the steamer with us and of course shook hands most cordially spoke a few words and then departed; his wife is in Baden Baden I believe) Friday, we, all, Konigs gave a dinner in Godesberg, eine [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] feier seines Geburtstages,  some of their married daughters were there and we had a very
