working in oils and just think my trunk only came after I had been here twelve days. I am most unlucky - first my sketche blows over, hits something hard and a hole gets into canvas - second blows over gets muddy, fix it and finally falls into slot. I give up in dispair. Third time palette blows into river, I seize it with a long stick and what do you suppose happened next, the model I was doing, slipped on some boards across slot and almost fell in head first. I declare I was frightened, since then no more adventures, they are most anoying when they came in a heap. We live here very quietly work all day and sundays fool. I have written lotts of letters. Have you heard of F. Seamans engagement, are you going to follow in his footsteps you are about same age.

We are twenty women and one man who is here with wife and baby. The walls are very thin and one can hear all that goes on, it to sounds very funny sometimes.

In hotel are some artist too but not very nice ones, I think germans, and what not. I dont know - I have been dying for a horseback ride, but see no prospect of getting any so I take long walks.

Papa & Mama have gone off to Pontresina the others think of staying in St Moritz. I here till end of August write soon to your loving sister.
