Dear HED-

Shall just inform you I am still alive - I wonder whether you went out west or not. 

It is very peaceful here and we are enjoying it - The little girls are also in the party and they have taken a real fancy to me, we carry on together to our hearts content- There are no stores here and so we are not tempted to spend money - have taken two drives, one to Bedford, we thought at least there would be some stores but no, no better than here so we returned without any eatables which we wanted to secure for our feast.
