Dear Edward -

Three of us with two friends arrived safely here and found no supper awaiting us and also to our sorrow our trunk with bedding did not follow, so we packed up indian fashion and slept in blankets which did not upset our peace of mind as we slept like tops. It is too bad that Papa got sick and so they can not come up till Friday or Tuesday of next week. We are going to buy a boat - Mr. Mason here has a cedar boat I shall look at that and then when I take Marion to Boston will go into the store there and look around- F- lent us their's so we had a fine row yesterday - also a drive and tomorrow we were going to
