Dear Edward,

Our journey home was not so warm and G. & I succeeded in playing the spelling [[strikethrough]] word [[/strikethrough]] game, but the excitement of that did not last long. It was rainy and Mrs. Heidlauff was still here & is still with us although she wishes to leave tomorrow, we hope she will not. Mrs Gordon lunched here with her friends Misses Porter & Mrs French we had a very pleasant time - her two children also came, they seem very cunning. I had no time to speak to them - I raced to President St up town and came home half dead. I called on Miss Ariacea
