night. To-day is a beautiful day + promises well for tomorrow. The horse I sold & my own both entered, so the race will be of great interest to me. One is in the light weight class & the other in the heavy, so they really do not compete. I will be unable to ride myself as I have not yet sufficiently recovered from the accident I had four weeks ago tomorrow.

Have I told you of the auto which I bought second hand? It is a Stevens-Duryea, a very good make & I got it very cheap. I hired a chauffeur for four weeks in order to learn how to run the car (as I intend to use it for the summer only) & then my accident interfered & I was unable to learn. Our carriage horses were doing too much farm work & it was either get some more horses or an auto so I got the latter.

The children are all keeping splendidly well & so is Ethel.

How is Theresa? It is so nice that you are together. Ethel & I often think of her & our visit to her in Berlin, the last time we saw her. It is now a good many years ago since she was with us in Monroe Pl.

Kate got back safely & Mary & Gretchen both went to Boston to see her. She spent Thanksgiving in Stonington, with the Palmer's I believe

Sunday I hope to go to Ft Salonga, the first time since we left in Oct.

Ethel is now chairwoman of the Boro' of Bklyn Suffrage Party & very busy.

With much love & best wishes,

Your bro.,

Edw.
