soon, much as we should have liked going, so Ethel is calling up several of your friends like Mrs. Cotton, Mrs. May & others to see if they can use them. If we have another chance at them, I hope you will not mind our using them. Madam Godski was in the Walküre last time.

Mrs. Vietor was very happy at having received the flowers from us & appreciates that we continue remembering her. I think I wrote you that Mrs. Carl V. sent her thanks from Berlin. It seems funny to think that Carl is now married. Mrs. Vietor & Tom spent Xmas in St. Louis with Julie.

My horse is now in the city & Theo rides him on Saturdays. Last Saturd. was his first ride & he fell off. I hope he has better luck today. I am now going to an automobile school to learn all about a motor car & hope to be able to run one next month. Thomas, my coachman in the summer is also learning at the Y.M.C.A. school.

Mary went down to Lakehurst again Tuesd. & Kate joined her there. They return on Monday & then on Wed. or Thursd. Mary goes down to Chinsegut to be with Gretchen for a while. Mary will have to take a rest for at least four months. Raymond has now started off on his trip around the world. They stop at several places on the way to San Francisco, sailing from there on the 17th. I enclose a slip with his address in case you want to surprise him with a letter.

Kate is now thinking of spending the winter in N.Y. instead of Boston.

Bessie & her husband are now acting together in a play which makes it very nice for them. They hope to come to N.Y. soon, having started in Cincinnati. Nettie is very well now & still in Westfield. The tenants of Shawandassie have written that they wish to continue the lease of the place. This is about all the news I can think of, so good bye.

With love from
Your bro., Edw.

All the children made some beautiful calendars & penwipers for us. Theo. & Nanette played a piece on the piano & all of them even little Dodo recited a verse. It reminded me of the days when I did that!
