Miss Dorothea A. Dreier,
C/o Hope & Company,

Amsterdam, Holland.

My dear Dorothea:-

Your two letters in regard to the Great Northern, one saying you were mailing me a check by registered mail, and the other enclosing a paper for the Great Northern, were received some days ago, and I had just about given up hope of receiving the registered letter when it came yesterday. I will send it out on the 10th with my other Great Northern payments, and enclose herewith a memorandum, showing the balance of the payments due in June, October and February of next year, which you can put in your check book as a memorandum, and make out your check about three weeks ahead, to be sent to me.

Enclosed is a circular from the Am. T. & T. Co. in regard to an issue of convertible bonds. This was sent to the Long . Loan & Trust Co., which mailed it to me with the subscription warrant for $2400.00 worth of 4½% bonds. As there will not be time to send this subscription warrant to you to be endorsed and disposed of, I am subscribing for the bonds in order to save the value of the warrant, which is in the neighborhood of $100.00 for the whole lot. You can then let me know whether you wish to take up the bonds entirely, or say, $2000.00 of them, or whether you wish to sell them and take the profit, which you could have made on the warrant. The payments are due as follows:-

February 17th- $1200.00
September 1st- 1117.20

If you take up only two full bonds, payments would be as follows:-

February 17th- $1000.00
September 1st- 976.00

These will be very good bonds, and can be later converted into stock.

In deciding whether you wish to keep them or not, you must bear in mind the other subscriptions, which I would advise making a preference of namely:-

The Great Northern- $2000.00 of which you have already paid $800.00

D. L. & W. - The amount which I do not remember;
Merrimac Chemical Co. which has just come out and which
