My Dear Dorothea:-

Enclosed please find warrant #941 for a fractional share of South Penn. Oil Company, which will cost you $50.84. This is in addition to some new stock which you get as a dividend, and which will cost you nothing, and I would advise taking it up. Please therefore return this with a check to their order for the above amount, which must get here before July 31st.

Enclosed are also some papers about the N.Y. Central which you can read over.

I have been very busy lately & will shortly have a surprise for you.

Ethel is in the country tonight & comes back in the morning to take the rest of the family out, so that by Friday night we will all be settled again on the farm.

I think I wrote you that Gretchen & Mary are in St. Louis attending a convention of the Woman's Trade Union League & stopping with Julie Vietor Davis. Next week we expect Gretchen here on her way to England to meet Raymond.

Last Sunday & over Decoration day, I had good fun breaking the pony I bought for the children to drive. After a few kicks & plunges at the start we were able to hitch him to a breaking cart & he did very nicely. First we made him pull a heavy log over the fields which got him used to the traces & also made him quiet. Thomas, our man, is very good at that. Goodbye, your bro., Edw.
