Dear dodo,

Just a line to let you know we heard definitely from Gretchen. She expects to leave Chgo. on the 9th & reach Saranac Lake Tuesday the 10th at 6 p.m., so will be too late to see you till Wednesday the 11th. I am also writing Mrs. Muir that she is coming.

I have been busy with the Income Tax & will write you about yours by Saturday latest.

Tonight we go to a small dancing class in N.Y. to which Dottie W. & Marie Winter belong. To-morrow is the Assembly Ball to which Mary Quinn is going with us as Kate is not yet well enough. On Sat. we dine with the Crawfords at the Fireside Club dinner in N.Y. All these engagements coming one right after another are not at a very opportune time.

The children are all well fortunately. Sophie the nurse had to go away again as she is still unwell & Carl the dog also got sick again, having had fits from a bad stomach upset.

Mary Quinn dined with us last night & we practiced some of the new dances for to-morrow.

Ethel rec'd your letters & has attended to them. I hope you are continuing to get on well. With love, Your bro., Edw.
