I believe Mother has told you that I have been working in the jewelry department of a large department store here. The work was so much harder than anything I had ever before done, and as I am not as strong as most girls, the days seemed so long and wearisome & when evening came I wanted only to rest.

Two weeks ago I gave up my position & will be at home with Mother until Apr. 22 at which time I expect to be married to George Gordon of Maryville Mo. where we shall make our future home. Mr. Gordon was formerly connected with the Western Weighing & Inspection Bureau, & was stationed in Muscatine for more than a year. Recently however he as gone into business for himself in Maryville, which is a very pretty up-to-date little city of seven thousand people.

Mr. Gordon is a man ten years my senior, and while he is not rich in this worlds good we feel he will be a true good husband & will always be able & willing to provide for my simple wants.

The wedding will be a very quiet home affair as we expect to have only our immediate families & one or two close friends. I do not wish to go away leaving Mother worn out in body & purse so am planning every thing as simply as possible.
